Who is the strongest body builder ever? Seems like I heard it was Franco Colombo from somewhere.

From what I hear, although he's not a big name and probably doesn't have much for a future, I hear that....damnit, I forgot his name....he's a big guy, like 6'5" and 375 in the off season...greg something maybe??? Grr!! If it helps, he totally ruined his physique in the last show he did...he looked very odd. But, I hear he reps like 650+ lbs on incline barbell press in one of his videos!

Oh well...of the top IFBB guys, Ronnie and Ruhl have to be the strongest ever. Of the day, Columbo was awesome!

bro, are you talking about Greg Kovacs...?

Pound for pound the strongest bodybuilder is Johnny "O". He's not one of the biggest pros but he's an animal in the gym. He benches like 525lbs and he deadlifts like 875lbs. Ronnie is also very strong, but Johnnie O does just as much weight with less bodyweight.

Ohh yea, Greg Kovacs gets no love from me cuz he uses mostly the smith machine. Lets see how much weight he can lift w/o an oiled bar on traction system. He may be strong but not the strongest.

It depends on whether or not you throw form into the mix. If using loose form is ok then Ronnie is definately right up there. I mean 2 weeks out from the O he squatted 800lbs. He also deads 800lbs. If you want to count form then Jonnie O Jackson would probably be the strongest. It also depends on body weight. Jonnie O uses about the same weight as Ronnie with better form and he's about 60-70lbs lighter. Ruhl is strong as hell and actually Kevin Levrone was really strong too. Would be interesting to see them all go at it in a strenght competition but I seriously doubt they would risk getting injured.

There was an article in MD, I think, that posed that same question. I think they more or less decided that Jonnie Jackson was the strongest when you combined the 3 power moves.

i say the ultimate warrior or paul "mr. wonderful" orndorf are the strongest ever. or maybe even greg the hammer valentine ! haha

According to what I read Johnnie Jackson is the strongest BB on the earth he has a 545 max bench press and a 820 deadlift he is a friggin monster, and he would crush Ronnie Coleman if it came to a strength contest.
