Does deadlifting actually increase growth and strength of the arms?

My personal opinion is that deadlifting and squating increases the size and strength of all muscle groups...these exercises should be at the core of all training routines...just my 2 cents...

I agree with Ig on this one, its a core builder, if dont with correct fourm you will get stregnth, thickness and muscle all over.

I did deadlifts today. It works so many muscles there is no reason NOT to add it to your regiment. Plus there is no better feeling than being on cycle any picking up huge weight like that

deadlifts are my fav ! nothing is better in my opinion when it comes to thickness of the back with this exercise

Deadlifts and squats cause your body to release additional Testosterone(natural) because of the stretch in the groin area. Also large lifts can help with cutting because you increase the base muscle mass in your system. You just don't want to do them all the time.

Absolutely. i do not believe that you should change the way you train just cuz you are trying to get leaner. I'm 7 weeks out from my show and I still lift the same way. Weights may go down but ya gotta keep pushing the same way. Deads are great for all muscle groupls particularly the back.

i pulled deads getting ready for my 2 shows this year until 4wks out...i really noticed a decrease in strength then so i cut them out so i wouldnt hurt myself...

i agree, deads are an extremely effective systemic exercise, and will add size all over, if done heavy without any lifting aids i find them very good for the forearms.
