High Resting Hear Rate(pulse) Empty High Resting Hear Rate(pulse)

Post by tylernus Tue Apr 03, 2018 6:33 am

Being a Kinesiology major, i have a couple of classes where we have to work with Resting Heart Rate, Training hear rate, Blood Pressure and that kind of stuff. I noticed I have an unusually high resting heart rate for my age; which is supposed to be around 60-70 beats per minute. Now elite athletes like long distance runners have like 40-50 bpm for their RHR. although i don't consider myself an elite athlete in that prosepctive i do think i'm more than fairly active. I walk back and forth from my house to campus(which is 1 mile round trip) about 2-3x a day. Also I have a pilate's class(for my lower back problems), a volleyball class, and I do my bodybuilding program in the evening which we all know is extremely hardcore and intense. So why do I have a RHR of 93bpm??

Do you guys think it's the roids, causing my heart to pump all that extra blood around since roids make extra red blood cells.

Could someone with some sort of knowledge on this situation kindly give me your 2cents

Do you take it sitting down and with no stimulants in your system(caffeine)?
Also the most accurate time to take a resting heart rate is when you wake up

Alright I'm just worried because in wrestling (HS) it was like 58. And now its 84(morning) - 93(evening). And the only difference now is im 4 years older, alot heavier, and on a cycle. So i figured it was one of those factors since I still do cardio @ 70% of my MHR. Although wrestling probably pushed me to 90% of my maximum heart rate.

But if ya'll think it's fine then i'll quit worrying.

i could be wrong but since most aas have an impact on ones blood pressure, having a higher blood pressure may result in more frequent heart beats.

there are many reasons why your resting heart rate is high---first genetics --second you could be taking something that causes the your HR to be higher ----The S1 and S2 nodes that control the electrical pathway can be easily excited and cause a a little higher HR---Foods and stress and yes the anabolics could cause it because of the higher amounts of hormones in the body ---Honestly nothing to be worried over-- as long as your between 60 -100 a minute your fine----do you pulse rate first thing in the mounring and see if its still in the 90's--Bro I work on the Telemetry floor in the hospital---I wouldnt worry about it ---are you taking any stimulents of any kind ---they excite the pathways of the beta receptors on the heart and can increase the resting HR----are you having any other symptoms like skipping beats --or a slow down and speed up HR---if so then you might want to get a EKG--but if its just you resting HR in the 90's dont worry about it ---
