First Injection Today...

and wasnt very successful. didnt realise i was so dubious doing it myself. i decided on my glute for my first injection, i put the needle in not to much of a problem, but struggled when pulling back to check if i hit a vein. found it very difficult to do myself. and couldnt see properly, so withdraw. wasnt even sure if i hit my muscle.

does anyoine have any suggestions, possible different site? or just general advice for first timer?

thinking of trying calf instead... though not very big muscle area for me!

I would try the thigh or delts first. take a look at spotinjections.com

was just looking at thighs, think may try tonight, gonna get some more pics etc. despite research for last 4 months! was under the impression the glute was best place for beginners, seems little hard to me!??

what needles are you using coz if you had 1.5 length for your glutes they might be to long for thigh (quads) most people use 1 inch

Use the thigh. Just don't put the needle in all the way.

The Thigh Is Non To Bad And You Have Both Hands Availible To Aspirate It Does'nt Hurt As Much As Your Mind Lead You To Believe Once You Puncture The First Layer Of Skin It's A Breeze Don't Worry And Yes Take It Slow You Can Do It

For aspiration (pulling back) I hold the syringe with my thumb and first finger and pull the plunger back with the fourth finger. You dont need to pull it back much at all. Either youll get lots of little bubbles whilst pulled back or you get blood in.

Ive never hit a vein before.....phew! Just only hit one on the way in.
