last night at work i was stuck listening to a.m talk shows,, on a very well known clear-channel station 700am .. scott sloan talked about this new fat loss miracle long forgotten that alot of rich and middle class people are now doing again here in cincinnatti,, ARE U READY FOR THIS SHIT.. there going to the local flea-markets and buying bolivan tape-worms,,, injesting them and loosing fat,,,then they go to the dr. office and get a perscription drug from the merk co. to kill the tape worm when theve lost enough weight... i's from people who have dun it,, i was thought this was a joke but after an hour discussion and alot of call ins, i was assured it wasnt a joke at all... has anyone ever herd of this stupid method.. there would have to be sum sort of nasty stuff involved with swallowing a parasite wouldnt there??? plzz understand im not makeing this up and its not a joke,,, im just wondering if anyones ever herd of this before....

That is insane, I just cannot see doing that to lose some weight. The thought of something squirming around in side of me actually makes me squirm around myself! Ugh, so gross!!

This is nothing new... the Chinese would do it... but instead of taking a poison to kill it they would starve themselves for a few days at the end... then they would make something like chicken soup and just sit infront of the bowl and smell the soup and keep smelling it,,, the next thing they know the worm would crawl out of their mouth and they would vomit it out.... Now that is nasty! And it would be like 6 feet long!!! thats fucked up!

hmmm this makes no sense --tape worms reproduce like crazy --once in the intestine they multiply very fast ---and are very hard to get rid of ---plus they damage the lining or microvili of the intestinal wall ---would not be smart -----wont they just snort 5 lbs of Cocaine that will do the trick --lol

I think the tape worms are cheaper then 5lbs of yayo.

Lets see 5lbs of blow is about 200,000 thousand dollars give or take a couple of grand,and tape worms are like 15 bucks.

The truth is we all have parasites living in us, some people have lots others not so much.

What they dont understand is not only do these worms kill all the good bacteria the only reason they loose weight is due to the fact the worms absorb all the nutrition you ingest, with you basically starving, and when they take the medication it kills most of them but kills all the good bacteria that must be prevalent in your body for a healthly balance.

You should have rung in and told them how to loose 20 pounds instantly.

I dont know where you get your snow from but it regularly goes for 20k a Kilo (at most) so that would be not quite 50k....

lol when i was in fourth grade my teacher told us she had a tapeworm that was causing her to lose alot of weight but didnt know why until she went to the doctor. (bs probably) she told us they gave her meds to kill it and then she shit it out and that it was around four feet long. i thought that would really suck. i had forgotten about that.

Thanks for confirming your finding. I was thinking it was a myth till you did confirm this ghastly story.

Worms live in us as a symbiotic relationship and play vital role just like many other nasty critters we are grossed out by . Of course, if they grow in number, then that becomes a problem and the need to erradicate the excess becomes necessary. I have puppies and you wont want to see how their tummies get from a worm infestation. Immediately, a dose of worm medicine is needed to kill the worms or else they can die in a short space of time.

But to use these things for losing weight, that is just insane and whoever came up with that idea should be left to be eaten alive by some flesh eating parasite!
